I stopped by my local butcher shop today and asked "what's good my friend"? Just like in the movies. The boneless ribeye steaks were looking good, so I bought two for dinner. The weather sucks (of course), so I didn't grill. Instead I just put them in the frying pan.
One of our fave restaurants is Wildfire and they have crusted steaks, so I decided to try it at home with blue cheese.
I mixed blue cheese and panko for the topping.
I popped them in the oven just to brown the crust and voila... BLUE CHEESE CRUSTED STEAKS!
Something new came into my life last night.... I finally retired my Nokia phone and got a Iphone 3GS. It was a bitter sweet moment. I've been a long time (maybe too long) Nokia fan and I even got a little sad when she took out the SIM card and ended it's life. I'm still trying to find out if the S stands for Speed or Sucka. Ron was trying to convince me to buy the old iPhone, but after the sales person was talking about the differences between the two, I had to get the new one. I'm still adjusting to this gadget, but so far so good. I even bought it a little rubber jacket. Ron warned me about putting the plastic cover on the screen while he was driving because of the bubbles and sure enough... I got lots of bubbles.
Here's the baby/old man watching me cook. He's really sad right now because Ron left to go play volleyball. No walk today. His birthday is coming up on July 22nd. He's going to be 6! Until next time folks.
